A brilliantly popular book, it speaks on how our minds try to escape our traumas while our bodies still hold onto the wordless emotions and feelings. We don't realize that these discomforts can seep into the rest of our relationships like our marriages, friendships, and family dynamics. Being human we will experience trauma in different ways and handle them differently as each experience is different for each person. When our bodies encounter a threat our animalistic instinct is to go int fight or flight mode, which causes our stress hormones to be released. A way to allow your body to relax from those instinct is to acknowledge the feelings and allow it to be released from the body, this won't always be a one and done thing either, sometimes it can take many "sessions" to be able to be at peace with those emotions.
